Pet Portrait Minis
Something always draws us to the little things. Little babies, little moments, and in this case, little paintings. Mini anything is automatically cuter in our eyes. Who knows why, but either way a mini painting should definitely be on that list.
So, “why pets?”.
The idea for these came from my best friend Bethany, who wanted me to paint a portrait of her sweet little dog Oakley on these mini canvases she had. One of her as a baby and one of her now. While working on the paintings, I thought to myself, “these are so cute, I’m sure other people would want these to display in various places in their home”.
Pets are part of your family. Just like you would have pictures of your kids, siblings, parents, and friends memorialized on your walls and bookshelves; the same goes for your pets.
The next question is, “why oil paint?”.
There are definitely easier mediums to create with. Ones that take less, or no time to dry, require less experience, and use less materials. Oils are just beautiful. They bring a classic painterly feel to the work that you just cant get from anything else. Many people love the idea of a hand painted piece of art made just for them. A one-of-a-kind art work that brings you and your family joy each time you look at it.
Thus, the Mini Pet Portrait was born. These mini pet portraits are 3” x 3” and come with an easel for displaying. They are painted with high quality oil paint, and after completely drying they are then varnished to protect from yellowing in the future. All art work is handmade in house by Kayla, herself. A lot of care goes into each piece. We want to make sure that the art showcases the essence of each pet.
Perfect for your desk, or for a special spot on an end table in your home, I think these add the perfect amount of love and personalization to any spot in your house. A sweet reminder of those furry little family members you cant get enough of. And, with a touch of color in the background, you can also brighten up your space.
