Our new Penpal Kits are great for getting your babies creative minds going, while they write letters to and from their friends. The kits are a digital download that include several 5x7 note card files, decorative papers, doodles and design pages for cut outs, and designs for adding a little bit of flare to envelopes.

Getting Started

When you purchase a Penpal Kit, you will receive an email that will help you access all of the files. You then can download them and print whichever one you like on your printer at home or you can send the files to a company that will print them for you.

What to Write

Once you’ve printed all of the papers of your choosing; you can write sweet notes to your friends, tell them about your day or week, ask them over for a play date, or whatever you like! My oldest knows how to write so this is great for actually communicating with his friends, but my youngest hasn’t learned to write yet so she just draws and scribbles onto the papers and I will write whatever she would like to say to her friends onto the paper for her. There also includes little doodle pages your little one can cut out to embellish their letters or the envelopes they will put their letters in.

Envelopes

Once your letters are written, then you can put an envelope in your printer and use the envelope file to print added details onto the envelope itself. The envelope file includes lines for a sending and return address, a place for a stamp, and a design to make it look super cute. The envelope files are for printing onto a 5x7 envelope and a standard #10 envelope. There also includes files for envelope liners if you have a 5x7 envelope. You will print it, cut it out, and then paste it onto the inside of the envelope for a little added flare and fun.

Sending the Letters

Once you have stuffed and sealed your envelope, you can fill out the sending address place, and the return address place. Then, in the spot where it says “Place Stamp Here”, you will place a stamp there, put your envelope in the mail, put the flag up, and then wait for it to be picked up!

(Note: Make sure not to over fill your envelope! If it is too heavy the Postal Service won’t send it without added postage.)

These are great for your little ones. They are also wonderful if you would like to give it as a gift to your child and another child you know and help them start their own penpal correspondence!

The possibilities are endless!
